It is always a special treat (yes, yes...excuse the intended pun) when Enjoy Life Foods ask me to review products. First of all, all of their products are free of the eight most common allergens (wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, and shellfish) and are also made without casein, sesame, and sulfites. Secondly, they don't use any artificial ingredients. Thirdly, their food...well, it just really tastes GOOD!

As careful as I am about not getting "glutened" (i.e. accidentally ingesting gluten), it does happen on occasion. When it does, I feel miserable and am sick for several days. That's why I was encouraged by this article that details what to do when glutened. See this insightful article over here.

A few weeks back, I needed to find a dessert recipe to bring to a social event. While I definitely wanted to bring something gluten-free that I could eat, I also wanted something that would taste yummy to those who don't eat gluten-free on a regular basis.

I, admittedly, am a carbohydrate junkie. I especially love carbs in the morning. While this probably isn't necessarily the healthiest option, it is what I like...what I crave upon waking. So, since discovering I had to go gluten-free, I have found myself at times complaining about the lack of yummy donuts and toaster pastries (I so miss Pop Tarts...oddly enough!).

I recently celebrated my birthday. My wonderful hubby asked me what he could make for my birthday dinner. Well, I guess most people would say a steak, a chicken dish of some kind, some kind of Italian dish; etc. What did I say? I said I wanted a SUB. Why did I want a sub? Well, I haven't had a sub for THREE YEARS. That's kind of silly considering that I could easily make my own. However, sometimes I really get tired of making my own g-free substitutes (*whine, whine, whine).
